Waveform Viewer: Shows the time-domain signal.

FFT Viewer: Shows the frequency-domain spectrum.

Spectrogram: Shows the frequency spectrum over time using a Constant-Q Transform.

Controls:

Note: you can pan and zoom on both the waveform and on the FFT display.

• Pan: Either horizontally scroll without holding Ctrl/Cmd, vertically scroll while holding Ctrl/Cmd or touch and drag (mobile only).
• Zoom: Either vertically scroll without holding Ctrl/Cmd, horizontally scroll while holding Ctrl/Cmd or pinch to zoom (mobile only).
• Resize: If you have multiple panels open, you can resize them with a handle in the bottom right of the top left panel.
• Audio Playback: For audio files, a "Play" button will appear. The waveform will track the playback position. The leftmost edge is the currently playing sample.
• Channels: You can enable and disable channels by clicking on their name. When disabled, the square is just an outline. Click again to enable. To change the color, click the square and a color picker will appear.
• Collapse settings: You can hide most controls by clicking on the time display. Click again to expand.

Note: You can click and drag up/down on any numeric label, or scroll over the input box to quickly adjust values.

• Show Toggles: Checkboxes under each section to show or hide the Waveform, FFT, FFT Phase, and Spectrogram panels.
• Waveform / FFT Dots: Show individual data points when zoomed in.
• Log Freq: Use a logarithmic frequency scale for the FFT X-axis.
• Filters: Add multiple filters to the signal (Lowpass, Highpass, Bandpass, Bandstop, DC Offset). Filters are applied sequentially. You can toggle, reorder, or delete them.
• Color Map: Choose the color palette used for the spectrogram.
• Light Mode: Toggle light/dark theme.
• Thickness: Adjust the line thickness/intensity (in units of CSS pixels). This is often useful when you can't see the signal because it is crossing the entire range in one sample. Default thickness is 1.
• Sample Rate (Hz): Reload the file using the sample rate requested. This is because the browser AudioContext does not allow to get samples at the native sample rate of the file. When the sample rate is absolutely known (for wav and csv files), this option is disabled.
• Y Min/Max (V): Override the vertical bounds in the waveform viewer. Leave blank for auto scale.
• Reset Zoom: Resets the time zoom to view the entire signal (0 to 1).
• FFT Min/Max (dB): Set the vertical range for the FFT viewer. Default min is -100 dB, default max is 0 dB. Leave blank for auto scale.
• Max FFT Pts / Bins per Octave: Limit the number of points calculated for the FFT. Higher values give more resolution but are slower. If it is blank, it will do the entire signal that is on screen. This disables the FFT method since those are all about how to sample the FFT points. When the FFT method is CQT, this specifies the number of bins per octave.
• Spectro Bins / Octave: Specifies the number of bins per octave for the Constant-Q Transform (CQT) used to generate the Spectrogram. Higher values provide more frequency resolution at the cost of performance.
• FFT Method: Choose the algorithm for rendering the FFT (where n = visible points, k = Max FFT Pts or bins/octave):
  • Folding: Recommended for large datasets. There is some spectral leakage (due to the rectangular window), but it's generally very good at getting you an approximation to the full FFT. O(k log k).
  • Sparse: Samples "random" points within a range rather than skipping a regular amount. O(k log k).
  • Welch: Uses Welch's method for smoother spectral density estimation. O(n log k).
  • Decimate: Downsamples the signal before computing the FFT. Skips by a regular step. O(k log k).
  • CQT: Uses the Constant-Q Transform to render the frequency spectrum. Provides logarithmically spaced frequency bins, which is closer to human perception of pitch. O(k log k).

Export: The Export button opens a dialog where you can save a composite image of all visible panels, export the raw or filtered signal data (WAV or CSV), or export the calculated FFT data (CSV).

Tips: If anything breaks, just refresh, there is no permanent state.
